Looking through some old ted talks, I came across Aparna Rao and this fascinating TED talk about some of the art pieces she was working on last year (August 2013) her art work is playful and puts no barriers between the viewer and the art. The art itself senses movement…

A small explanation of Max Fleischer and his technique and patent for his invention of the rotoscope… Max Fleischer The Rotoscope and Koko the Clown – Koko’s Earth Control Amazing to think that in 1939 he was using 3D diaramas for his painted cels to be filmed in front of…

When the Disney short ‘Paperman’ came out last year I watched it and thought it looked great, but not until now have I investigated how it was made. Fascinatingly they created it in full 3D cgi animation and then hand drew the lines back over it to give it a…

A super - but very cold - weekend at Shotley on a soda and salt firing weekend organised by @anglianpotters in memory of Paddy. #pottery #sodafired #saltfired #ceramics Last few days to see over 50 potters work all together in the Undercroft Gallery in Norwich. @anglianpotters - See if you can spot mine 🤩 #gallery #ceramics #norwich #undercroftgallery Sushi night on Saturday night and we realised we needed some divided bowls for the condiments… if only I knew someone who could make something like that 🤣 So a little bit of thinking about how I want them to look, classy, clean and elegant. That decided that I should be brave and open up the blue porcelain I bought a while ago and have only used once 👀. It’s really different/tricky(ish) to throw with as it’s so soft and any minor wobbles just amplify. I’ll need to add the dividers later and not sure how the porcelain will handle that - but I guess I’m gonna find out! #wheelthrown #porcelain #playwithclay #pottery This week I have labelled, listed, packed and delivered a selection of my lovely Raku pieces to be in the @anglianpotters Undercroft Gallery exhibition alongside over 50 other fabulous potters and artists. Private view is Friday night (13th) starts at 6.30pm. Open for two weeks so make sure to come and see all of the pretty things and see if you can spot any of my pieces 😊 last photo is a very silly photo of me having fun with clay even when it all goes wrong 🤣#wheelthrown #pottery #playwithclay #ceramics #anglianpotters A touch of sun to make the pots pop! Here are the Raku results from a rainy Saturday firing. It was well worth getting a little soggy when you get results like this ❤️ I am slightly in love with my Raku 🥰 All of these pots will be going into the Anglian Potters Spring exhibition in the Undercroft opening next weekend, I’ll post times etc soon but thought you’d like to see what came out of the kiln. 😊 #pottery #raku #shinythings #fire @anglianpotters Raku Day, drizzly and wet all yesterday but the Raku couldn’t wait ☺️ Ably assisted by the hubster on lids, leaves and sawdust duty 😁 Second Raku firing at home and still as excited by the process as the first time. I had quite a few to put through so you’ll just have to wait to see the results 😘 #raku #pottery #wheelthrown #playwithclay
