Looking through some old ted talks, I came across Aparna Rao and this fascinating TED talk about some of the art pieces she was working on last year (August 2013) her art work is playful and puts no barriers between the viewer and the art. The art itself senses movement…

When the Disney short ‘Paperman’ came out last year I watched it and thought it looked great, but not until now have I investigated how it was made. Fascinatingly they created it in full 3D cgi animation and then hand drew the lines back over it to give it a…

So I’ve already made 6 of these dimpled ‘beer’ mugs, 4 of which have problems, 2 were the glaze, it ran and 2 were the make itself too thin and it cracked and the other has a rough lip. So even though I’ve only got 2 passable mugs I ran out of slip 🤣 Over the weekend I made up some more, so got into production mode and nailed my timings to produce 4 new ones. 🤩 looking good! I was half tempted to leave the funky dribbly bits on the lip, but decided it might make it tricky to drink out of 🤪 (This is my own 3 part plaster mold made from one of my own glasses. ) #slipcasting #experimenting #ceramics #playwithclay All setup and ready with all of the other lovely potters for the fab ceramics market. Norwich Forum open from 9-4 today! Come and look at the lovely shiny things! #pottery #wheelthrown #ceramics @homegrownpotterysociety I just had to squeeze in one more firing before the ceramics market on Sunday, really wanted some vases in my speckle clay and indigo combo and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out! My big bellied vase had my newest floaty glaze combo on and it looks absolutely fabulous darling 🤩 Come on down to the Norwich Forum on Sunday from 9-4 and visit me and over 50 other potters and ceramic artists for this special market. @cretaceous_creations_ @homegrownpotterysociety #pottery #wheelthrown #ceramics #norwichforum #supportlocalartists All setup and a cup of coffee on the go! @brewnorfolkandfriends in the Halls at St Andrews until 4pm today! #pottery #craftylife #norwich #homemade #buylocal Just testing my setup for tomorrows market at the St Andrews Halls with @brewnorfolkandfriends If anything takes your fancy it’ll be open from 10! 🤩 #pottery #buylocal #buyhandmade #craftylife What better way to spend the hottest day of the year so far than by doing a little Raku 🔥🔥 These are some of the last things I wanted to be ready for my upcoming summer fairs. I use copper beech leaves as part of my combustibles and the reaction with the turquoise and cobalt glazes is simply stunning! Unrepeatable results so truly one offs 😊 I will be at St Andrews Hall on Saturday the 30th May with @brewnorfolkandfriends and then the following Sunday (6th June) at the Forum for the Ceramics Market for @homegrownpotterysociety . I’d love to see you there ❤️ #ceramics #wheelthrown #raku
