    Life Sculpture Course

Wensum Lodge is a fantastic place and provides amazing courses, so when I saw a Life Sculpture course advertised it was meant to be! I love Life Drawing, ever since the first time at Art College where I just seemed to find something I really enjoyed and could do well,…

    Mini Set Building

Making some props and sets for the stop-motion students to use in practice has been on my little list of things to do for a while now and I have finally got time to share where I have got to thus far. I started with research of typical victorian terraces…

    Making a Showreel

It’s been a little while, but I thought why not let’s put together a little animation showreel 🙂 It’s a combination of the last couple of years experimental work in both After Effects, TV Paint and Photoshop, generally playing with images and video or researching techniques for freelance jobs.

Lovely bit of throwing today, gave myself time to enjoy the process and put some cool tunes on. But oh boy was it cold! Heater on, hot water bottle on, and using hot water to throw with and my hands were still frozen, but a lot of fun was had. These shapes are pretty tricky and my clay was probably a bit too soft… but I like a challenge 😁 #wheelthrown #pottery #playwithclay Here are my starting drawings for the mugs I recently threw. Then the handles got pulled a couple of days ago. Today was tidying them up for the last time before popping them back into a box to homogenise the wetter and drier clay. I want some of these to be pink and some to be green, does pink and green work together🤣 not sure about that, but might try a test tile… #pottery #mugs #pink #wheelthrown A little bit of throwing shapes, just like the old days. 🤪 These forms are slight adaptations from earlier cups that I personally really like to hold and use, just a more curved base shape. They’re feeling mighty thin, so hope I will be able to attach some lovely pulled handles! #pottery #wheelthrown #pulledhandles #ceramics I remember this 🤣 What better way to celebrate New Year 🤩 Getting back on the wheel is lovely, not making it easy for myself and hoping to get a trio of bud vase shapes that can be a set, the intention is to Raku and use decoration, as well as shape to tie them together. The last thrown shape went so wobbly, not quite sure why, but when I was cleaning up I slapped it with my sponge as well to add to its woes 🤪 Don’t think that one is going to make it! #pottery #wheelthrown #playwithclay #happynewyear All ready down at the Forum with lots of crafty Christmas goodies. Come on down and say hi! #forum #christmas #market I’ve had a great year with my pottery this year, pushed myself to try tricky techniques, attended a crazy intense pottery camp, done my first ever Raku firing and I’ve got just one more craft fair to get ready for. Hoping to give my pots new homes - leaving my shelves bare and ready for refilling 😊. There will definitely be more Raku and trying more sculptural pieces, but I cannot wait to get back on the wheel. If you’re in the city on Saturday pop into the Forum to say hi. Be great to see you 😁. #ceramics #craftfair #forumnorwich @jabbawockycraft
